One of my all time favourite books. H E Bates' A Moment in Time precipitated my interest in the Battle of Britain. A rereading in 2008, after finishing Jack Davenport Beaufighter Leader, led, six years later, to the release of Australia's Few and the Battle of Britain. (September 2014)

Tea and books! The tea cup trio came from my mother and the tea set came from my grandmother. On the blouse, you can just make out the sweetheart wings that Jack Kennedy (one of the subjects of Australia's Few and the Battle of Britain) gave his fiancee in 1940.

A close up of the sweetheart wings given by Jack Kennedy (one of the subjects in Australia's Few and the Battle of Britain) to his fiancee, Christine in 1940. It is a great honour to own this now, and to keep alive the beautiful story behind it.

With Bill Bryson at his Canberra event, March 2014. It was a great thrill to meet one of my favourite writers when he came to Canberra in March 2014. We had a good chat about writing and he signed a couple of books for me. Still haven't got over it! A wonderful experience.
